Bred by Jean Quinn, Wickenberry Mystique, ‘Misty’, was our first Gordon Setter after owning, exhibiting and, very occasionally, breeding Irish Setters. Misty was almost unbeaten in her puppy classes resulting in her being Top Puppy 1987 and achieving her Junior Warrant before she was a year old.
She gained her first Challenge Certificate at the British Gordon Setter Club championship show in 1988 just a few weeks after her second birthday from Peggy Grayson. She stayed at home to have a litter and mature, returning to the ring in style in the summer of 1991 where she gained her second CC at East of England. Her third came a few weeks later at her next show, Scottish Kennel Club in August.
Only very lightly shown after that, she gained another two CC before being retired. She had two litters, the first, by Winterwood Willow (1CC) producing the litter sisters, Sh Ch Shannas Midnight Shadow and Shannas Midnight Breeze. Her final litter, sired by Sh Ch Wickenberry Philosopher at Liric, produced Shannas Romance.
