Ferndel Philosopher at Shannas, ‘Danny’, joined us at the end of 2003 and proved to be a delight to own.
He gained Best Puppy at his first show, Birmingham National championship in 2004 and consistently won well.
Before he was two years old, he was awarded his first Challenge Certificate at Belfast championship show in 2005 then quickly gained his title, often being shortlisted in the Group as well. If I was busy working at shows, then Danny was sometimes expertly handled by his breeder, John Thirlwell.
A son of the famous Sh Ch Ferndel Cecilia, the Top Brood bitch of all time, he was one of her 11 titled progeny.
After he retired from exhibition, Danny continued to enthral us and enrich our lives. He was certainly a tremendous introduction to the breed for us.
We are truly indebted to John for allowing us the privilege of owning him.
