Shannas Solitaire, ‘Phoebe’, was not shown until she was 10 months old, so only made a handful of appearances in the Puppy classes. However, she still managed to get herself noticed taking home some Best Puppy awards.

Her first Reserve Challenge Certificate came when she was a few days out of puppy and in her first Junior class. Phoebe always stayed in the shadows of her renowned half brother, Daimler, frequently awarded the RCC at shows where he won the dog CC.

She gained her first CC at the British Gordon Setter Club championship show a couple of months after her second birthday; her second came at Gundog Breeds Association of Scotland a few weeks later where she did the double with Daimler and even beat him for BOB. Her third came at National Gundog the following year.

She was hardly shown in 2003 but came into the limelight in 2004, the year she was Top Gordon Setter. Gundog Group winner at South Wales championship show in 2004, she was retired from competition in the summer of 2005.

Having won 13 CC and a tally of RCC in double figures, she lived out her retirement at home until her death in October 2009.
